What is the CTG Club Training Block?

The CTG Training Block is how we bring structure and direction into club training — without turning cycling into something complicated or elitist.

Rather than one-off plans or open-ended coaching, we train in clear blocks through the year. Everyone starts together, follows a structured plan, then reviews and resets before the next block begins.

It’s designed for riders who want to train with purpose while staying part of a supportive club environment.

This block is a good fit if you:

  • Ride regularly but feel like progress has slowed

  • Want structure without feeling “elite”

  • Enjoy training as part of a club, not in isolation

  • Like knowing why you’re doing each session

  • Want to review progress properly before moving on

You don’t need to race.

You don’t need perfect data.

You just need consistency and a willingness to train with intent.

Who is it for?

  • Before the block starts, we use a short prep period to make sure everyone is set up properly.

    This includes:

    • Training history and goals review

    • TrainingPeaks setup

    • Zones confirmed or adjusted

    • Clear expectations for the block 

    This keeps the training weeks focused and aligned.

  • You’ll follow a structured weekly training plan delivered through TrainingPeaks.

    Every session includes:

    • Clear intensity guidance

    • Coaching notes explaining the purpose

    • Progression across the block

    You’ll receive weekly coach feedback focused on consistency, execution, and small adjustments where needed.

  • At the end of the block, we step back and review what’s changed.

    This week includes:

    • Repeating a key test or benchmark

    • Reviewing training consistency

    • Identifying improvements

    • Setting direction for the next block

    This is where the learning and confidence come from.

  • Option to continue into the CTG structured training from £50/month or leave at any stage

  • If there is no progression after the 5 Week CTG training block - CTG will guarantee your money back.

You don’t need a TrainingPeaks Premium account to take part.

A free athlete account is enough to:

  • Receive your training plan

  • View session details

  • Upload completed rides

 Premium features are optional and can be discussed if they’re useful to you.

TrainingPeaks – how we use it

Founding block rate

This covers:

  • 4 weeks of structured, progressive training

  • 1 full review & retest week (included)

  • Weekly coach feedback throughout the block

  • Training delivery and adjustments via TrainingPeaks

  • Access to the CTG club training structure

This is a one-off block fee, not a rolling subscription.

Future CTG Training Blocks will return to the standard block fee.

 At the end of Week 5, you can either:

  • Take what you’ve learned and continue training independently, or

  • Continue with CTG for structured coaching, this can be discussed in the review phase.

There’s no obligation either way. The decision is always yours.

FAQ — CTG TRAINING BLOCK

    The CTG Training Block is designed for riders of mixed abilities who already ride regularly and want more structure and direction.

    You don’t need to race or hit certain numbers — consistency matters more than fitness.

  • No.

    A free TrainingPeaks athlete account is all you need to take part in the block.

    You’ll be able to receive your training plan, view session details, and upload completed rides.

    Premium features are optional and can be discussed if they’re useful to you.

  • That’s completely fine.

    Life happens.

     The block is built around consistency over time, not perfection.

    If you miss a session, we simply adjust and keep moving forward.

  • The CTG Training Block sits between general riding and full 1-to-1 coaching.

    You’ll receive structured training and weekly coach feedback, but it’s delivered in a club-based format rather than daily individual messaging.

     This keeps things focused, sustainable, and affordable.

  • At the end of Week 5, we review the block together.

    You can then:

    • take what you’ve learned and continue training independently, or

    • roll straight into the CTG Squad for ongoing structured coaching

     There’s no obligation either way

  • No — and this is intentional.

    CTG Training Blocks run on fixed start dates so everyone trains together and reviews at the same time.

     If you register after a block has started, you’ll be queued for the next one and welcomed during the prep window.
